Do We Need a New Language about Homosexuality? One of the more popular, misunderstood, and challenging problems Catholics face today is the topic of homosexuality. I think of the many great strides we as a Church and as a culture have taken in speaking about it. In the same way, neither side whether secular or religious, has spoken more clearly on the subject. Catholics, at the very least, have always been very good at making distinctions. The process of making distinctions is not just good philosophy and theology, but it also aids in our practical and charitable responses to what we experience.Do We Need a New Language about Homosexuality? by TESM
When we respond to homosexuality we should know what it is. Moreover, when someone is homosexual it does us little good to categorize that person according to preconceived notions about their sexual activity, sexual purity, or moral state. In fact I've usually seen these reactions as one's own personal, moral blindness than as a useful discussion geared towards understanding something so as to respond to it more effectively.
That being said
Redemptive SufferingThe fear of suffering, pain, and death seem like unconquerable mysteries. My time here at CPE [clinical pastoral education] has helped me to understand, via experience, that they are not necessarily things that need to be conquered. No amount of faith excludes us from experience pain, loneliness, and death. Money, power, and other earthly things makes these three experiences even worse. With this in mind, I began to wonder if the words of Qoheleth were not as negative as they appear: “Vanity of vanities! All is vanity” (Ecc 1:2). Earthly things will pass which also means these things, both good and bad, will pass. Yet this does not ease the blow of the mystery of suffering and death. Even if they pass away they still remain with us our whole lives.Redemptive Suffering by TESM
For me, this mystery is one that is only solved by the Cross. The cross is, for me, the foundation of my theology the ministry I do. The cross is the Incarnational moment where love and suffering meet. Love because
His Princess Warrior: An AMAZING Book. This is the second book I've gotten from Sheri Rose Shepherd and it is amazing. I'm only on the 62 page and this book has changed my life. I haven't read the book page to page, cover to cover. I've read one chapter at a time, and only sometimes when I feel that I need to. What warms my heart is every single time I pick this book up, the chapter that I'm on speaks to me to where I am at that moment. This book....it's amazing. There's one particular chapter I want to share. His Princess Warrior: An AMAZING Book. by Twilightlover2007
My Princess Warrior,
The greatest battle you may ever fight is the fight to forgive yourself. Remember, My beloved, all My chosen ones had to get up and receive My gift of grace to finish living out their faith.
I gave My disciple Peter the strength to get up from the guilt. I gave My anointed king David the grace to get up from the shame of committing adultery. I gave My apostle Paul the mercy to get up from pride and arrogance. I gave My warrior Gideon the courage to get up from his fears. The time is now t
Standing Up With God!Last night I feel like I was attacked by a demonic power. I was given feelings and thoughts that I know are not mine. I know now that it was the devil trying to get rid of me. Guess what devil, you should be scared. Because God's got a plan for me that's going to kick you so hard you'll be lucky if there's anything left of you. I know my purpose in life is to raise children up into knowing who God truly is, a loving, faithful God who's always with us. I will raise up an army that will crush you, will crush your allies, and will stand by Jesus' side in VICTORY over you and every dark power. Yeah, you can't touch God's children. God has blessed me with more support in my family and outside of my family as well than you could ever block from me. My God is greater, stronger, and more powerful than you will ever be. It. Is. Finished. And YOU devil are D-O-N-E. DONE! Praise God for the friends and family I have that picked me up when I needed it the most, you all are the most amazing peopleStanding Up With God! by Twilightlover2007
My TestimonyThis is something I wrote to indicate how I felt 6 years ago. I wasn't a very happy person and life didn't have any pleasure for me at all. I wasn't depressed, I just didn't see the point in life - you're born, you grow up, you have children and then you die - Whoopidoo. It just seemed a bit futile to me I guess, having no real purpose and having a meaningless existence. I wanted to really live a meaningful life and it didn't matter to me if I became the most successful and richest person in the world - that still wouldn't give me meaning, that still wouldn't satisfy me.My Testimony by saykha
So I wasn't happy. And then my mom decided she wanted us all to start going to church. I wasn't too happy about this either, knowing that I'll be dragged out of bed early every Sunday morning, but she didn't give me much of a choice so I went.
It was dull and boring - and it was almost like torture sitting there every Sunday - but still some of the words the Pastor spoke sunk in ... I had always wondered about Go
Truly From My Heart: LoveDoes being a Christian mean that you're better than others? No. Does it mean that life is going to be 'easy street' after you become a Christian? No. Does it mean you'll instantly become perfect? No. No matter how long you've been saved, whether it be 30 seconds or 30 years, you will still go through hard times. You will STILL struggle with issues that this life throws at you. There will still be times when you're ready to give up on everything in your life and just lay down and die. Being a Christian means realizing that you're meant for more than whatever this world has for you. That you can overcome ANYTHING that comes your way. That when you've reached rock bottom and are ready to give up, that God will offer you his hand to pick you up higher than you ever thought you could go.Truly From My Heart: Love by Twilightlover2007
I've been an off and on Christian for most of my life now. It's never been easy. I've faced addictions, I've faced times when all I wanted to do was curl up and die, and there were times I wanted to even en

Pray to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ;
Pray to the one true God.
Our Heavenly Father does listen
To those who believe in Him
For we will be saved!
As a child I believed in Jesus and prayed to my Heavenly Father daily for hours. I was bullied in school every day and after years of this abuse I had become suicidal; never attempting suicide but close to doing it. My prayers changed from "Please Lord, stop the bullying" to "Please, I beg you just let me find one person who will love me for who I am." For about five years, I was desperate, as many teenagers are. I prayed for help. I wanted a friend. God became that friend. A friend for life and God helped me through the most difficult time of my life, the adolescent teenage years.
I started praying to God for a specific type of girl to love and be loved by. My prayers were answered by the time I w

in His love I am before the Most Holy Son of man
at the foot of His throne
So bright with light I see
His mercy and grace free flowing
and they rest on you and me
When I hung my head and sighed
then my Lord God Jesus Christ
bent down to look at me
and held both my hands
as two tears fell from my eyes
He smiled and yes I see
His love reserved for me
that all the money in the world
could never pay the expense
He paid for me upon His cross on Calvary
I bent low still my head
and Lord Jesus and I still meeting at the edge of my bed
He said "My child, I love you
I love you so much no words can clearly say
My child do not depend on the things of this world
depend on Me instead
and in Me you shall always be well fed
By fed I do not mean
just Holy Bread and Wine
nor honey accompanied with milk
I shall satisfy your needs
and indeed your heart, spirit and soul
shall be healed and filled

Upon this hill way up high
Hidden from the eyes of many I find bliss where He and I

staring into the dark infinity...
His lips not part but I hear His words
The winds brought His song as sweet as lulls from the sleeping trees
and I saw Him smile
His smile spoke most eloquently than the verses formed from scribes ....
Yeah I sat right there and how I yearned I could
stay there with Him- the Shepherd with His staff and wooden rod
Yeah my God stands with me forever more...and His grace and mercy shall follow me every day...of my life...
yet He said to me
"My little child
your journey's just begun
tarry not...O little one...
your length of life is but half risen sun

My kingdom lies far awayMy kingdom lies far, far awayMy kingdom lies far away by cereal-in-a-bowl
from where I stand oh, so far away
where angels dwell and cherubs play
yea, my home lies yonder there so far away
the cherub sun with curly locks
her ray of gold spills upon the green moss covered rocks
she coos and giggles
her gurgling mirth conjures the flowers who hid beneath the earth
name for names
O breed notorious in glorious fame
I knew their faces but alas ashamed!
I could not pluck them from the archive
inside my head
Here upon this mortal soil
where earth erupts with green and spoil
yea, they sing
"Praised be God most sovereign
Hail King forever His name most holy
priest forever Godhead King!"
They danced triumphant
for in His Name
God Jehovah always saves
Lord of Heaven and of earth
all creatures praise Him as they rejoiced
with hands laced together
sang songs of glee
rose upon the spool of thread
the sun warmed the crown of hair
which is upon my head
As sun for backpack
and my thoughts
I hitched both up
and walked along

the body of brown hammered wood
its arms outstretch with rusty nail
its direction ah, seems in old age fail
I could not read from East to West
thus my way cannot continue so in dismay
I stood between two paths which outstretches to wherever both ways may

with hands both raised above his hips
Ah, in frustration I kept it far from coming
still it persisted for the wait was excruciating

they were in packs this I could see
and they brought pollen, birds and flowery concoction as they breathed slowly by
I thought I saw a yearning sigh

I saw you standing at the foot of the gate
Where the flowers grew with a passionate rage
For the sun with her temperamental ways
Could not decide what to wear upon her sunlit hair
which boasts of her beauty which no flower could compare
O sun above wondrous though you may be
Could not compare to what I see
Wandering far away from My kingdom...
With clothes of rag and face forlorn
Oh and how your sides were pierced with thorns
O how I wept at the sight of you
For it was for you that I sacrificed that you may be redeemed...
I withdrew My hands and told the winds
To bring you glad tidings which I desire to deliver unto you
O how I felt love for you that I asked the flowers of the fields
Of sunflowers, chamomile and jasmine to anoint your feet with perfume
So that where you walk your heart be filled with praises and glory overflow
And all shall know
That I am Yahweh God...
I leaned over to catch a closer glimpse of you
And My, how did the sun withdrew

Who beckons in the quiet fields?Who beckons in the quiet fieldsWho beckons in the quiet fields? by cereal-in-a-bowl
Whose voice is sweet like a song
whom angels sing before God's countenance?
O how melodious did He sing as He brushed through the field's
shamrock green hair
whose name brings about such fragrance
Which would stain round the collars and breast of each flower lain
in the field today...today...
Whose voice did perch upon the trees
where hangs the fruits of her tiring labour
ah, how she sings of her motherhood
as she brushed her hair with the hands of the breeze
sitting amongst other ladies
whose affair was that of knitting and that of chattering
mindless matters which does not carry their reasons anywhere...
how His voice lingered and how I searched where He may be
while scaling up the mountain high
where flowers praise and fields are plenty
for creatures rest and drink of happy wine
for the spring fount overflows
and it froths with delight
of great comfort unto any weary soul...

and taste of spring in the soul's pair of eyes
The Rosary: Not a Vain RepetitionWhen instructing people on how to pray, Jesus said this:The Rosary: Not a Vain Repetition by PieWriter
5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

New Living Translation (NLT)
44 Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. 45 For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. 47 I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. 48 But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. 49 I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it.50 And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.”

Paul’s Thanks for Their Gifts
10 How I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn’t have the chance to help me. 11 Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. 12 I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little.

with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
